Sambal oelek is a thick, spicy chili-based sauce with added salt and lime juice. It can be prepared from fresh or cooked ingredients. It is used as an accompaniment to practically everything, depending on one's preference for "spiciness" in dishes, e.g., for marinades, meats, vegetables, dips, and the famous kimchi. Ingredients: chili 70%, water, acidity regulator: acetic acid, preservative: sodium benzoate E211. Storage: after opening, store in the refrigerator.
